I made this painting back in June and I wasn't sure exactly why.
It's Richie Tenenbaum on the cross.
Even as I wrote that I think I should have probably put that in quotations ("the cross").
The odd thing is, a lot of people throughout the history of the entire world have been crucified.
Lots of people who had beards were crucified.
But if I put Richie Tenenbaum on "A cross" I am some how being blasphemous for my possible reference to Jesus.

And then, what if I am specifically referencing Jesus? Would that be so bad. Pop culture Christian marketing has done a really great job making Jesus look really cool; maybe even as cool as Richie T.

I'm not quite sure what this means yet, and what the implications could be, but I have the urge to do a series of crucifixion scenes. So here is #1 - Richie Tenenbaum. Perhaps #2 will be Abraham Lincoln.

-Trine.
