Another Diptych

Here's another diptych that I collaborated with
Sam Arthur on.
It's been on that wall for about 7 months now.
Holdin' up pretty well in the weather I suppose.
I did the left side.
south paw.

I encourage you to go and vandalize it.
Maybe I'll do it myself.

New Piece

This is a piece that's up right now at
the Artery Gallery in Costa Mesa.
It's a group show - closes Feb 3.
It's a diptych.
Which, I think I'm getting really into diptychs just because I like saying
the word "diptych"

and a new poem

Actually it's 4 months old. But it's new to you.

MONSTROUS MONSTROSITIES
MONSTROUS CITIES
DEVOURING THE SPIRIT WHOLE
THE WHOLE SPIRIT
AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
TRAVEL THROUGH THESE
MONSTROUS BUILDINGS
FILLED WITH MONSTROUS
MEN AND WOMEN
ASKING FOR A HELPING
HAND TO HELP
THE HURTING LAND
SAVE US FROM THESE
TROLLS THAT AREN'T JUST
UNDER THE BRIDGE
BUT ON TOP OF IT TOO
WITH GOOD LIGHTING AND
APPROPRIATE ADVERTISING

Insert and "n" and your whole story takes on a new meaning

Let's take, for instance, a situation from last week.
I enrolled myself in a mental fabrication class
at the local city college.
I want to learn some mental fabrication techniques
because I have some ideas for projects that need
mental work.
I went to the Mental Depot off the 5 freeway and
picked up some scrap mental to practice with.
I also got some steel to boots to protect myself
in the case of falling molten mental.
There are four other students in my mental class.
They are all a bit older than me.
One guy has done some mental work before, but
he talks way too much and it's kind of annoying.
Overall, everyone is pretty nice and I'm looking
forward to doing some mental work.
Being able to work with mental will really open
up some doors for me with my art making.

salton sea and salvation mtn.

Yep, Heather and I made the trek out to the Salton Sea this weekend.
It was a gorgeous drive into the desert and the distant mountains were covered in snow.
We checked out some campsites for a camping field trip; details to follow.....

More on Alpacas....and Jesus

Interestingly enough, on urbandictionary.com the 3rd entry for Alpaca contains the definition as follows:

3.
Alpaca

the worlds greatest animal. this is so because jesus chose an alpaca to ride to the area we now know as the united states. the alpaca was his "godly animal" of choice because the alpaca could walk across water, fly if it really loved you, and could reach speeds up to the speed of sound on foot. be sure to get down and chant the following phrase if you see an alpaca: "shama ghala eh oh calla, shama ghala eh oh calla." the phrase means "pray to the almighty animal of god!"

jesus rode the almighty alpaca

This is unreal!!!

I went to Georgia last week with my family for a wedding.
Here is one my favorite shots from the weekend.

It's been quite some time since i last updated things.
Happy New Year!
May your New Year exceed the lowly pursuit happiness by pursuing something that isn't so elusive; but also don't pursue something so horribly tangible that you'll get bored when your pursuit is over.
The pursuit of happiness is a trifle waste of time because it is not something that can be consumed. And, it is not something that comes as a product of our consumption.
Rather, it comes as a product of our product; of our production.
What we produce, is ultimately what we will have, in fact, it is what we are having; presently.

So don't pursue happiness - Produce Happiness!

Happy New Year! May it be a year full of wonderful productions!!!
